316 surgical stainless steel
A strong and durable material, ideal for jewellery you want to wear often.
316 surgical stainless steel is a high-quality type of stainless steel used in jewellery for its strength, durability and excellent resistance to corrosion. The material retains its shape well and withstands everyday wear better than many softer metals.
316 steel gives jewellery a smooth surface, elegant lustre and a substantial, premium feel. The durable material is particularly well suited to rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings designed to be worn again and again.
Unlike softer materials, surgical steel does not bend or scratch as easily. With the right care, stainless steel jewellery can retain both its shape and finish for a long time.
316 surgical stainless steel offers excellent resistance to rust and corrosion. However, jewellery should still be protected from prolonged contact with water, perfume, skincare products and strong chemicals to keep the finish looking its best for as long as possible.
Thanks to its hypoallergenic properties, surgical steel is a suitable choice for many people with sensitive skin. Our plated jewellery is also designed with skin comfort in mind. PVD creates a highly durable coating that resists flaking and peeling, helping to reduce the risk of irritation.
However, everyone’s skin reacts differently. People with a diagnosed metal or nickel allergy may still be sensitive to certain pieces of jewellery.
14K gold plating with PVD
The best of both worlds – the look of 14K gold combined with the strength of surgical stainless steel.
Our gold-plated jewellery is treated using PVD – Physical Vapour Deposition. During the process, a thin 14K gold-coloured coating is bonded to the surface of the steel.
PVD plating is considerably more durable and resistant than conventional plating. It helps the colour of your jewellery last longer before signs of wear or scratching begin to appear. Our gold plating creates a premium finish that is both accessible and durable enough for everyday wear.
Black TiCN plating with PVD
A dark metallic finish with excellent durability.
TiCN stands for Titanium Carbonitride and is applied using PVD technology. The coating creates a hard and resistant surface with a deep, dark tone. This is the coating used on our black jewellery. Like our other materials and plating methods, our black plating is designed to be gentle on the skin.
Depending on the design of the jewellery, the finish may be polished, brushed or matt.
Genuine freshwater pearls
No two pearls are exactly alike – and that is precisely how it should be.
Pearls are organic and form inside molluscs when foreign particles, such as a grain of sand or a parasite, enter the shell. The mollusc protects itself by surrounding the particle with layers of nacre.
Nacre consists of minerals and proteins naturally produced by the mollusc. As these build up in several layers, a pearl eventually forms.
As the pearls are genuine, natural variations in shape, colour and lustre may occur. The pearls may vary in shades including white, cream, beige, pink and purple, making every piece of jewellery unique.
In Greek mythology, pearls were associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. According to legend, Aphrodite was born from the sea foam and rose from the water on a shell, adorned with shimmering pearls that symbolised the perfection of the sea.
Freshwater pearls have a long history in ancient China, where they were cultivated in rivers and lakes. More than 2,000 years ago, freshwater pearls were worn as amulets believed to bring good fortune, protection and health.
Our freshwater pearls are cultured, meaning they are produced with human care. Cultivation makes it possible to produce pearls without taking them from wild mussel populations.
As our freshwater pearls are genuine, they may occur in a range of natural colours, shades and shapes. They may be white, cream-coloured, pink, beige or purple, among other shades. This gives every pearl and every piece of jewellery its own unique expression.
Freshwater pearls do not have a coloured coating. However, they should still be stored separately from other jewellery to reduce the risk of scratches and other damage.
Leather
A living material that develops more character the more it is worn.
Italian leather is renowned for its quality, natural feel and craftsmanship. Variations in texture and shade may occur, giving each product its own distinctive and personal character.
Over time, genuine leather may develop a natural patina – a subtle change in colour and sheen that reflects how the material has been worn. These variations are a natural part of the leather’s character.
An animal-free alternative.
Vegan leather is a material designed to recreate the appearance and feel of traditional leather without containing animal-derived materials. It provides a smooth and flexible surface that works well for jewellery and accessories.
The exact composition of the material may vary between products. Further information can be found in the individual product description.
Vegan leather should be protected from excessive water, strong heat, perfume and chemicals. If necessary, gently wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
